Job summary

Quest Diagnostics is seeking a Specimen Technician II in Jefferson City, MO, Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. This role requires proficiency in SPT I tasks and handling more complex processing such as A Station, Frozen, CPU, and Micro.

The position emphasizes accuracy, adherence to safety and policy standards, and ongoing skill development within Specimen Processing. The incumbent will work in a lab environment handling test ordering requirements, specimen integrity, and documentation to

Qualifications

Internal candidates must have a minimum of 9 months experience and be meeting all performance standards in the SPT I role.
Medical terminology knowledge is preferred.
Production environment experience is preferred.
Must meet safety/compliance requirements and CLIA-related conditions.

Responsibilities

Demonstrates proficiency in responsibilities of the SPT I.
Meets/exceeds productivity and quality standards.
Solves more complex problems on a routine basis.
Understands how Specimen Processing impacts the testing laboratory.
Identifies problems with specimen types and information where applicable.
Understands relationship between test orders and results.
Completes required documentation legibly and on time.
Meets production and accuracy standards within 3 months.
Follows Quest Diagnostics policies and procedures including safety and compliance.
Performs all other duties as assigned.
