Job summary

Quest Diagnostics is hiring a Specimen Technician III in Portland, ME (hospital-based at Northern Lights Hospital). The role runs Monday to Friday, 1:00 PM to 9:00 PM with potential shift differentials up to 15% for later hours.

Pay ranges from $20.34 to $22.31 per hour, with opportunity for annual bonus based on performance. Candidate will handle complex specimen processing, training responsibilities, and strict adherence to SOPs and test-ordering policies.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• 9+ months experience in SPT II or equivalent.
• Ability to enter data at ~6,000 keystrokes per hour and work in a biosafety environment.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates proficiency in SPT II duties and SOPs in Specimen Processing.
• Identifies and resolves specimen issues, ensures accurate documentation.
• Adheres to test ordering policies and related compliance requirements.
• May assist in training and mentoring staff within Specimen Processing.
• Performs duties with safety and compliance in mind.
