Job summary

Labcorp in Houston, TX seeks a courteous Specimen Management representative for casual/per diem shifts. You will act as a liaison between the lab, clients, and patients, and assist in preparing and triaging specimens for analysis.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED and 1 year of healthcare experience, with strong communication skills and attention to detail. Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs and handle specimens safely. Hours vary Mon-Fri and weekends.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 1 year or more experience in healthcare (e.g., physician's office, clinic or hospital).
• Preferred: Labcorp experience; Associates degree; 1 year+ in customer service.

Responsibilities

• Act as liaison between the lab, clients, and patients.
• Resolve internal & external customer requests via calls, instant messenger & email.
• Communicate with customers in respectful and professional manner.
• Work in multiple databases to research complex issues and questions.
• Provide customer education and information as needed.
• Review test forms for accuracy and report discrepancies.
• Prepare and triage specimens for analysis.
• Accurately identify and label specimens.
• Pack and ship specimens as necessary.
• Prepare and store excess specimen samples.
