Job summary

BD (Becton, Dickinson and Company) in Franklin Lakes, NJ is seeking a field-based Clinical Process Advisory professional for Specimen Management. The role emphasizes improving clinical laboratory workflows and hospital operations through expert process guidance and stakeholder collaboration.

You will interact with Nursing, Laboratory, Infection Prevention, Pharmacy and Supply Chain teams, delivering actionable recommendations and sustaining improvements across multiple hospitals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, nursing, life science or relevant field; MT ASCP and LEAN certification, or obtain within 6 months.
• Minimum 4–6 years’ experience in process improvement and change management within Medical Device/IVD industries; strong analytical and financial skills.
• Strong communication and presentation skills; basic knowledge of Hospital and Laboratory IT (LIS data).

Responsibilities

• Foster partnership between Specimen Management and customers in a Clinical Process advisory capacity.
• Maintain knowledge as product specialist for Specimen Management as products/guidelines evolve.
• Lead process improvement initiatives with stakeholders to improve workflow and efficiency.
• Deliver presentations to Nursing, Laboratory, Infection Prevention, Pharmacy and Senior Hospital Management.
• Support change management activities and ensure stakeholder buy‑in for recommendations.

Job Overview

This position reports to the Associate Director of Clinical Support and supports the Specimen Management business unit, Pacific Northwest (WI, MN, CO, WA, ID, IA, ND, SD, WY, MN, OR, NE ). This role observes current clinical practice and recommends Best Practice process optimization in all aspects of clinical laboratory and nursing processes. This service provides clinical effectiveness and enhanced hospital operations. This is a field-based position with most of the time being spent face to face interacting with BD customers.

Responsibilities

• Fosters a continually evolving partnership between Specimen Management and our valued customers in a Clinical Process advisory capacity
• Maintain knowledge and expertise as product specialist for Specimen Management as product and guidelines evolve
• Clinical resource specialist engaging with key opinion leaders within the account identifying critical areas for improvement
• Drives clear project goals and expectations to achieve process efficiency and department effectiveness goals
• Proactively ensures optimal workflow and product utilization
• Facilitates project process using best practices and financial analysis to help achieve customer identified outcomes
• Interview stakeholders, process owners in support of process improvement recommendations
• Leads and partners in change management activities associated with process improvement recommendations
• Engages stakeholders to obtain support and buy into process recommendations
• Deliver presentations and report to various audiences: Nursing, Laboratory, Infection Prevention, Occupational Health, Pharmacy, Supply Chain, Senior Hospital Management
• Continues on-going collaborations to ensure continuous improvement stemming from projects

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in business, nursing, life science or relevant field with MT ASCP, LEAN Certification or obtain within 6 months of hire, Preferred Nursing Background Minimum of 4-6 years’ experience and demonstrated consistent success in process improvement, best practices, and change management within the Medical Device/IVD industries
• Strong financial and analytical skill and applications to selling tools; Effective communication, and presentation skills; Basic knowledge of Hospital and Laboratory IT (LIS data) Duties require ability to integrate projects within BDX Sales Organizations and Marketing Departments
• Preferred: Hospital Lab and or Hospital Infection Prevention Experience preferred.
