Job summary

MedVet is seeking a Veterinary Clinical Supervisor to lead the Clinical Services team across Internal Medicine, Medical Oncology, and Ophthalmology. You will supervise shift coverage, mentor staff, and coordinate with clinicians to ensure high-quality patient care.

In this fast-paced hospital setting, you will manage workflows, address concerns, participate in on-call duties, and drive continuous improvement while upholding our core values of teamwork, leadership and compassion.

Qualifications

• Requires veterinary experience; prior surgery experience is a plus.
• Strong mathematical skills for drug calculations and infusions.
• Flexible hours and ability to work overtime when needed.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Escalates issues to Clinical Manager.
• Functions as a scheduled Clinical Services team member.
• Collaborates with other departments for patient and client needs.
• Prioritizes and organizes shift workflows.
• Directly manages Clinical Services team during shifts.
• Assigns team responsibilities per shift and addresses issues.
• Communicates schedule changes and performance concerns.
• Responds to client concerns and drug escalations.
• Trains and mentors new team members.
• Provides input on team performance evaluations.
• Participates in on-call responsibilities.

We are looking for: Veterinary Clinical Supervisor (Internal Medicine, Medical Oncology, and Ophthalmology)

What you’ll do:

• Escalates issues to Clinical Manager
• Functions as a scheduled Clinical Services team member within department(s)
• Collaborates with other departments regarding patient and client needs
• Prioritizes and organizes workflows for shift
• Directly manages Clinical Services team members while on shift which includes but is not limited to:
• Manages early call-ins, early departures, call-offs, sharing of resources, breaks and lunches for team members
• Assigns team member responsibilities per shift
• Addresses process or employee issues during their shift
• Communicates schedule changes, performance concerns and shift issues to the Clinical Manager routinely
• Serves as first level responder to client concerns and drug escalations
• Trains and mentors new team members
• Provides input to Clinical Manager on team member performance evaluations
• Participates in on-call responsibilities
• Participates in management or administrative meeting(s) routinely

Who you are:

• communication skills Prior veterinary experience required, previous surgery experience desired
• Proficient in calculations (drugs, constant rate infusions, unit conversions, etc.)
