Specialty Veterinary Assistant - Cobble Hill

Our clinics are designed to be warm, friendly, and pet-friendly, with a focus on innovative technology built in-house to improve the veterinary experience for pets, clients, and staff.

We are building an outpatient specialty surgical team and seek a proactive Veterinary Assistant to join us. You will provide compassionate support to clients and assist our surgical team with tasks such as scribing during visits and helping with procedures. We value efficiency, attention to detail, and teamwork, along with a passion for providing high-quality pet care.

This is a full-time position (40 hours/week) with a rotating schedule of four 10-hour shifts.

What You'll Do:
  • Scribe for veterinarians during visits
  • Support surgeries, x-rays, treatments, and procedures
  • Handle and restrain pets compassionately for exams
  • Record and report patient symptoms
  • Maintain clinic areas and exam rooms
  • Communicate pricing estimates and treatment plans to clients
  • Assist with client interactions, scheduling, and education
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Maintain stock and supplies
  • Ensure sterilization and readiness of surgical instruments and supplies
  • Coordinate surgical schedules effectively
You Have:
  • At least 1 year of experience as a veterinary or kennel assistant
  • Animal handling experience
  • Ability to lift and restrain animals up to 50 pounds
  • Experience with surgical instruments and sterilization techniques (preferred)
  • Excellent communication skills
  • High attention to detail and multitasking ability
  • Proficiency with computers and record-keeping
