Job summary

Daimler Truck North America in Gaffney, SC is seeking a Specialty Vehicle Service Support Specialist II. You will provide technical service support to customers and interface with dealers to resolve field issues and apply warranty processes.

You will maintain service records, develop service bulletins, review content, and assist Freightliner field staff. Some travel and 24/7 call-center coverage may be required.

Inside the Role

This posting is for Specialty Vehicle Service Support Specialist II. This position provides technical service support to our customers. This position will interface directly with customers and some dealer technical staff in the resolution of field issues and the application of our warranty process.

Successful candidates will interface with our customers and partners and engage in problem solving for support on the products we build.

Position offers a starting salary range of $65,000 - $83,000 USD

Pay offered dependent on knowledge, skills, and experience.

What You Drive at DTNA

• Maintain service records on vehicles including proper documentation of problems, corrective actions, and service/warranty commitments.
• Assist in the development of service bulletins, campaigns and updates.
• Review technical content for technical literature.
• Support and provide technical assistance to Freightliner truck field service personnel.
• Perform field and service warranty duties in support of FCCC dealers, fleets, and customers.
• Communicate corrective action taken to other departments and service network.
• Travel as needed to identify and correct customer and product problems, and to provide customer assistance.
• Participate in continuous improvement of call center processes.
• Responsible for support on all FCCC model lines (RV, Econic SD, MT45/55, MT50e, S2, S2RV, School Bus, eB2 Jouley)
• Being a 24/7 call center, some holiday coverage may be required.

Knowledge You Should Bring

• Knowledge and experience with conflict resolution .
• Experience and understanding of automotive or medium and heavy-duty commercial vehicle electrical systems and controls.
• Demonstrated team leadership skills, including cross-functional collaboration.
• Microsoft Office and Excel.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Knowledge of how to read electrical schematics and CAD drawings.
• Knowledge of multiplexing and CAN communication networks operations.
• Ability to analyze data for metrics and CX improvement.

Exceptional Candidates Might Have

• Associate degree in automotive and prefer 2-4 years of relevant experience or 6 years of relevant experience in lieu of degree
• Automotive or truck dealership work experience
• Well-developed technical troubleshooting experience on heavy equipment or automotive.
• Knowledge of the automotive and truck dealer network operations.
