Job summary

Saint Joseph Health System in Indiana is seeking a Nursing Assistant to support RN staff in delivering quality patient care on a 12-hour day shift. You will perform basic nursing tasks, monitor vital signs, assist with admissions and transports, and maintain clean patient areas.

Qualifications

• High school graduate required.
• 1-2 years' experience with medical terminology, Nursing Assistant and/or Unit Secretary preferred.
• Trained in telemetry to review data from special equipment (heart rate & blood pressure).

Responsibilities

• Assist RN to deliver quality patient care under supervision.
• Perform nursing procedures and maintain a clean, safe environment.
• Record vital signs, ADLs, specimens, I&O and weights; assist admissions, discharges, and transports.
• Maintain patient charts and organize medical records.
• Clean nursing station, equipment, kitchens, and storage areas; support workload as needed.
