Qualifications

  • Reading, writing, math, and basic computer/MS Office skills.
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Welding experience (Stick, TIG, MIG) preferred.
  • At least one of: 4-year technical degree or 2-year tech degree + 2 years maintenance exp., or 4 years maintenance exp., or completed apprenticeship.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and repair machines, instrumentation, electrical equipment, and controls.
  • Perform preventive, predictive maintenance as scheduled.
  • Install, monitor, repair, and replace equipment as required.
  • Adhere to safety, cGMP and sanitation standards; follow management instructions.
  • Work overtime as needed and collaborate with team on multi-trade tasks.

Job Purpose:Perform work involving the skills of multiple trades or craft occupations to keep machines, instrumentation, electrical equipment and components, control systems, or the infrastructure of an establishment in repair.

The following is a list of major duties and responsibilities for this position along with certain supportive duties. It is not all-inclusive. Other duties and responsibilities may be added as needed and in addition, management may modify this job description as needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work duties involves various skillsets including those of a millwright, pipefitter, iron worker, plumber, boiler maker, insulator, welder, machinist, carpenter, and mechanic.
  • Perform routine, preventive, and predictive maintenance as scheduled.
  • Install, monitor, maintain, repair, and replace equipment as required.
  • Housekeeping as required. Maintain high department and plant sanitation standards. Monitor and maintain all compliance requirements.
  • Work overtime as required.
  • Perform other duties assigned by management as required.
  • Schedules, shifts, and days off subject to change.

Education/Experience:

  • Reading, writing, math, and computer and Microsoft Office Software knowledge.
  • High School Diploma or equivalency.
  • Welding experience (Stick, TIG, and MIG) preferred.
  • Also, must meet at least one of the following:
    • 4 Year Technical or Vocational Degree in an Industrial Mechanical Maintenance field of study.
    • 2 Year Technical or Vocational Degree and a Minimum 2 years’ experience in an Industrial Mechanical Maintenance related position.
    • Minimum 4 years of experience in an Industrial Mechanical Maintenance related position.
    • Successfully completed an approved training program or skilled trade apprenticeship program.

Qualifications:

  • Technician must operate in a safe, compliant, efficient, and productive manner. Wear all safety equipment as required.
  • Mechanical and Electrical skills required.
  • Knowledge of computers necessary. Ability to enter required data on computers including EAM maintenance program.
  • Ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously. Ability to work under pressure of deadlines.
  • Handle hazardous chemicals such as alcohol, caustic, acids, oils, and lubricants etc.
  • Strong verbal & written communication skills. Has strong working knowledge of the English language. Ability to interpret and follow written and verbal instructions. Ability to work in a team environment. Works well with others. Ability to perform job tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Stays informed and in compliance of all daily, weekly, or routine assignments delivered from management in the format of written or verbal communications.
  • Strong mathematical skills required, basic arithmetic, algebra, and geometry
  • Must be able to qualify on the operation of heavy equipment including: Fork Truck, Skid steer, Wheel Loader, Trackmobile, and JLG.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to work in cold to hot temperatures; work around dust, fumes, and/or moderate to loud noises; works inside and/or outside.
  • Able to lift, pull, carry, and pick-up average to heavy objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Able to climb stairs and ladders; walk on paved and unpaved surfaces; sit at a desk and operate a computer and keyboard; visual acuity to review written documentation; ability to hear, speak, and understand speech at normal room levels and on the telephone; manual dexterity to operate a telephone; lift horizontally and vertically, bend, stoop, stand, and reach.
  • Work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions.
  • Climb and work in high places and/or from ladders, roofs, etc.
  • Work in confined spaces. Work in dusty conditions: milo, corn, feed-grain dusts.
