Job summary

CommonSpirit Health seeks a Specialty Surgical Tech to support the surgical team by preparing the operating room, assisting the surgeon, and managing instruments and supplies. You will maintain a sterile field and be ready to rotate on-call with rapid 30-minute reporting during procedures.

A $5,000 sign-on bonus is offered to eligible hires, along with referral incentives, tuition reimbursement, relocation assistance, and comprehensive benefits to support work-life balance.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program or approved surgical technology program.
• CPR/BLS within 30 days of hire.
• Must be able to rotate surgical call including weeknights and weekends.
• Minimum one year of surgical experience required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the operating room and gather instruments and supplies.
• Assist the surgeon during procedures and maintain sterile technique.
• Maintain sterile field and anticipate team needs for efficiency and safety.
• Rotate on-call duties and report within 30 minutes when called.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As a Specialty Surgical Tech, you will function as an integral team member across all phases of the surgical procedure. Your role is vital for seamless transitions and comprehensive patient care. Every day you will collaborate with the surgical team, meticulously preparing the operating room, assisting the surgeon, and managing instruments and supplies. You will maintain a sterile field and anticipate team needs for efficiency and patient safety. Must be able to rotate call and report within 30 minutes, if called for a procedure. To be successful, you will demonstrate exceptional attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and effective performance under pressure. Your commitment to teamwork and sterile technique will be paramount for safe and successful surgical outcomes.

Job Requirements

Required

• Graduate of an accredited school of practical nursing with attendance of the core curriculum for perioperative nursing or equivalent training, upon hire or graduate of an approved surgical technology program (one or two year program), upon hire or
• Basic Life Support - CPR, within 30 Days
• Must be able to rotate taking surgical call (weeknights / weekends).
• One year surgical experience required
