Job summary

Jazz Pharmaceuticals is seeking a Specialty Sales Consultant to promote sleep-focused therapies and build relationships with physicians in a defined U.S. territory.

You will educate healthcare professionals, achieve sales goals, and coordinate with MSL, Managed Market and Access teams to address patient access, all while staying compliant with industry regulations. Reporting to a Regional Sales Manager, this role requires strong communication, strategic planning, and up to 75% travel.

Qualifications

  • Four-year college/university degree or equivalent is required.
  • Post-graduate business school study, training is preferred.
  • Minimum five years pharmaceutical sales experience preferred.
  • At least two years of specialist sales experience is preferred (i.e. neurologists, pulmonologists, psychiatrists, or sleep specialists).
  • Orphan/rare disease therapeutic sales experience beneficial.
  • Current hospitals, sleep labs, neurologists, pulmonologists and sleep specialist relationships preferred.
  • Hospital/Account based experience with closed access account navigation preferred.
  • Sleep and Central Nervous System therapeutic sales experience is preferred.
  • Experience with both retail and specialty pharmacy products preferred.
  • REMS/hub or central pharmacy experience helpful.
  • Strong knowledge of product(s) and competitor product(s) and disease states desirable.
  • Strong understanding of payer landscape for high value specialty products is desired.
  • Experience in launch product planning/execution beneficial.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, planning and organizational skills are required.
  • Self-motivation and team orientation essential.
  • Ability to travel to up to 75% in order to meet territorial requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Educate physicians and other health care professionals about Jazz Pharmaceuticals products, providing the most current information about the approved indications.
  • Achieve individual sales goals and productivity objectives.
  • Participate in organizing and facilitating meetings for the exchange of medical and product information in line with the company’s policies, regulatory and legal requirements.
  • Analyze the SSC’s designated territory to understand prescribing and decision processes and any marked differences from national trends.
  • Utilize all available resources to educate HCP and staff on products.
  • Manage patient flow challenges, helping office navigate the process from prescription to insurance criteria to patient access of product.
  • Identify key physicians, health care providers and organizations within assigned territory.
  • Prepare a business plan and territory tactical plan for the SSC’s assigned territory.
  • Implement approved plans within established timelines.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with physicians and other health care professionals identified in business plans.
  • Work with cross functional MSL, Managed Market and Access and Reimbursement teams to compliantly meet the needs of physicians, health care professionals, and patients.
  • Present a positive and professional image of Jazz Pharmaceuticals, and ensure activities are consistent with and enhance the company’s ethical pharmaceutical marketing policies and procedures.
  • Comply with all legal/regulatory guidelines of the FDA, PDMA, Pharma Code, OIG guidelines, and all other applicable federal and state regulations.

Job Description

The Specialty Sales Consultant is responsible for direct promotion of Jazz Pharmaceuticals’ products, and the development and management of business relationships with therapeutic specialists within an assigned geographical territory. The Specialty Sales Consultant (SSC) is an integral part of the commercial team that includes all personnel dedicated to the sales and marketing functions. The Specialty Sales Consultant will implement Jazz Pharmaceuticals’ marketing strategies and marketing tactics to achieve short-term and long-term objectives.

This position is within The Sleep Franchise and reports directly to a Regional Sales Manager.

While the position is advertised as a Specialty Sales Consultant role, we welcome applications from candidates with Senior-level experience, as we are open to considering the creation of a requisition for individuals with additional expertise if Jazz determines that there is sufficient business need.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities

Jazz Pharmaceuticals, Inc. is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices and we strive to provide employees with total compensation packages that are market competitive.For this role, the full and complete base pay range is:

$120,000.00 - $180,000.00

Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, and other pertinent factors. The goal is to ensure fair and competitive compensation aligned with the candidate’s expertise and contributions, within the established pay framework and our Total Compensation philosophy. Internal equity considerations will also influence individual base pay decisions. This range will be reviewed on a regular basis.

At Jazz, your base pay is only one part of your total compensation package. The successful candidate may also be eligible for a discretionary annual cash bonus or incentive compensation (depending on the role), in accordance with the terms of the Company’s Global Cash Bonus Plan or Incentive Compensation Plan, as well as discretionary equity grants in accordance with Jazz’s Long Term Equity Incentive Plan.
