Specialty Products Machine Operator I - 3rd Shift

Description

Specialty Products Machine Operator I

Salary Range: $18-$21 - 3rd Shift

JOB FUNCTION

This position is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of equipment and processes utilized in the production of quality Specialty Products. The Machine Operator I works closely and communicates with technicians, supervisors, and other personnel as necessary to maintain continuous operation of the equipment and processes.
Upon successful completion of operator training, the operator's primary responsibility is to keep the machines accurately running.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Safety
    • Follows all safety work practices as outlined in standard work procedures
    • Supports plant or departmental safety initiatives
  2. Quality
    • Performs all quality inspections in accordance with standard work instructions
    • Ensures product is within specification tolerances, using calipers and other inspection equipment
    • Completes inspection audit sheet or charting requirements by handwriting or computer input whichever is applicable
    • Informs technician of quality issues on the production line
  3. Productivity
    • Ability to read and follow standard work instructions
    • Responsive to machine lights
    • Notifies area technician of issues with the production lines to ensure prompt resolution
    • Replenishes raw material supply on machines
    • Removes finished product
    • Makes minor adjustments to machines
    • Performs minor repairs
  4. Records problems
    • Records time and reason machine is out of operation
    • Records time when machine is back online
    • Records repairs needed to machine
    • Records amount and reason for scrap
  5. Other duties as assigned

Shift: Third

Pay Range: $18.00-$21.00

Full-Time/Part-Time: Full-Time
