Job summary

Valley Medical Center is seeking a Pharmacy Technician I for the Specialty Pharmacy on a per diem basis at the VMC Main Campus in Renton, WA. The technician supports the specialty pharmacy supervisor, communicates with pharmacists, and helps ensure programs meet regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities include processing specialty drug orders, assisting with benefits verification, prior authorization, and billing tasks while maintaining confidentiality and accuracy in all patient interactions.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must hold WA Pharmacy Technician credential in good standing.
• 2-3 years specialty/retail pharmacy technician experience.
• PTCB certification preferred; certification required for Tech II.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support for specialty drug distribution services.
• Complete competency assessments.
• Maintain knowledge of current medications.
• Facilitate delivery and packaging of specialty drugs for shipment.
• Restock medications and supplies as needed.
• Assist with benefits verification and prior authorization processes.
• Handle daily billing operations and patient statements.
