Job summary

UnitedHealth Group is seeking a Specialty Pharmacy Technician to interpret and enter prescription data, handle calls, and provide excellent service in a fast-paced environment.

You will work Mon-Fri with potential overtime, using multiple systems to deliver accurate information and support patient care. Relevant licensure and 1+ year experience are required.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Current Pharmacy Technician license in state of employment without restrictions.
  • 1+ year of pharmacy prescription processing experience.
  • Experience with computer navigation and Microsoft Office programs.

As a Specialty Pharmacy Technician, you’ll be responsible for interpreting and entering prescription data in our pharmacy system, answering incoming calls, and completing outbound calls to / from patients, physicians and pharmacists while ensuring a high level of customer service and maximized productivity. This role is equally challenging and rewarding. You’ll need to work within multiple computer systems simultaneously as you respond to questions or provide specific medication details / clinical information. It’s a fast paced, high-volume environment where our members are counting on us to deliver these important, sometimes life - saving medications in an accurate and efficient manner.

Schedule:

Monday-Friday 8:00 AM-4:30 PM CST

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Verify appropriate and accurate patient information
  • Contact patients, pharmacists, and providers to resolve issues
  • Other assignments and projects as needed
  • Maintain proficiency and quality as standardized by the department

Required Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Current Pharmacy Technician state license in state of employment without restrictions
  • 1+ years of pharmacy prescription processing experience
  • 1+ years of experience with computer navigation and Microsoft programs such as Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and SharePoint
  • Ability to work between the hours of 7 AM to 7 PM Monday through Friday. Shift will be consistent once determined. Overtime may be required on weekdays and weekends as needed.
  • Reside in one of the following states: Michigan, Florida, Arizona, Texas
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Specialty pharmacy experience
  • National Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT or NHA)

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The hourly pay for this role will range from $16.00 to $29.00 per hour based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
