Job summary

CVS Health in San Francisco is seeking a Pharmacy Technician I to perform backend store fulfillment, fill prescription orders, and support front-end operations. Qualified candidates hold a CA pharmacy technician license, have at least six months of pharmacy or computer experience, and can lift up to 40 pounds while standing all day.

This entry-level role offers development into the Tech II path and opportunities to contribute to patient care and dispensing accuracy.

Qualifications

• Valid CA-issued pharmacy technician license in good standing.
• Six months of computer experience.
• Six months as a pharmacy technician or in a pharmacy environment, or completion of a pharmacy technician-training program.
• Ability to lift a minimum of 40 pounds and stand on feet all day.

Responsibilities

• Fill prescription orders accurately and efficiently.
• Count medications using manual process and Kirby counters.
• Prepare orders for shipping, selecting the most cost‑effective delivery methods while meeting patient needs.
• Accurately put away medication orders in assigned placement areas to maintain inventory accuracy.
• Assist with front‑end pharmacy operations, including customer service, cash register operation, and data entry.
• Operate cash register, accept payment, and distribute medication orders to patients.
• Contact patients with refill reminder calls to ensure compliance.
• Perform ancillary duties to support front‑end pharmacy operations and provide customer service to walk‑in customers.
