Job summary

UVA Health’s Specialty Pharmacy Operations seeks a Pharmacy Technician 2 to support centralized fulfillment, logistics, and inventory processes in a noncustomer facing role focused on precision and efficiency.

You will work in a hospital-affiliated setting, collaborating with pharmacists and lead technicians to grow technical expertise and drive reliable patient care through advanced workflow practices.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate or Equivalent.
• 6 months minimum relevant experience.
• Commonwealth of Virginia Pharmacy Technician Registration required.
• CPhT credential through NHA or PTCB required; for team members hired prior to Feb 1, 2020, certification as CPhT required by Jan 31, 2022.

Responsibilities

• Accurately prepare and fill specialty prescriptions within a centralized workflow.
• Support packaging and shipping logistics, ensuring timely and compliant delivery through carrier systems such as UPS and vendor networks.
• Manage and maintain inventory levels, including tracking, replenishment, and organization of medications and supplies.
• Participate in mail-order and central fill operations.
• Collaborate with pharmacists, lead technicians, and peers to ensure workflow continuity and quality assurance.
• Take ownership of assigned responsibilities, identifying process gaps and implementing solutions in real time.
