Job summary

AndHealth is seeking a Specialty Pharmacy Manager in Ohio to lead specialty pharmacy services and ensure high-quality patient care. The role reports to the VP of Pharmacy Services and will influence clinical decisions, accreditation readiness, and program quality across multiple centers.

The ideal candidate has a PharmD or equivalent, OH license, and 5+ years in pharmacy management with direct patient care.

Qualifications

  • PharmD, BS in Pharmacy, or NABP (FPGEC)
  • Unrestricted pharmacist license in Ohio
  • Willing to obtain licenses in multiple states
  • BLS certification required
  • Immunization delivery certification preferred
  • Specialty pharmacy experience preferred
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Willingness to travel as needed

Responsibilities

  • Oversee specialty pharmacy services and provide clinical guidance.
  • Deliver direct patient care, therapeutic recommendations, and counseling.
  • Lead Quality Management Committee and drive quality initiatives.
  • Oversee Quality Improvement Projects across locations.
  • Support accreditation prep for URAC and ACHC.
  • Initiate patient management programs and create care plans.
  • Precept pharmacy interns and staff.
  • Review payor formularies and handle prior authorizations and appeals.
  • Manage full pharmacy operations including insurance adjudication and dispensing.

Specialty Pharmacy Manager

We are looking for a Specialty Pharmacy Manager to play an important role at AndHealth.

This is a full‑time position located at a Community Health Center in Ohio.

This position will report to the Vice President of Pharmacy Services. In the absence of a VP of Pharmacy Services, this position will report to the next level manager unless otherwise defined or assigned.

What you’ll do in the role:
  • Maintain oversight and participate in all specialty pharmacy services, providing clinical guidance and overseeing decision-making for the specialty pharmacy program.
  • Deliver direct care, therapeutic recommendations, and counseling for patients with chronic conditions via the Patient Management Program, protocols, or collaborative practice agreements.
  • Actively lead the pharmacy's Quality Management Committee, oversee the Quality Management Program, and champion quality initiatives at the pharmacy location.
  • Implement, oversee, and report on Quality Improvement Projects throughout the pharmacy locations.
  • Participate in URAC and ACHC specialty pharmacy accreditation preparation and visits, ensuring all required information is documented appropriately in specialty pharmacy software.
  • Optimally initiate the Patient Management Program to complete initial and re‑assessments, and create appropriate care plans for patients requiring specialty medications.
  • Support other AndHealth and Health Center providers and staff to address patients' clinical needs, and serve as a preceptor for pharmacy interns and students.
  • Review payor formularies and complete prior authorizations and appeals as necessary for patients.
  • Manage specialty pharmacy operations; supervise and participate in the full pharmacy production workflow—including insurance adjudication, filling, verification, and packaging.
  • Any other duties as assigned.
Education & Licensure Requirements:
  • PharmD, BS in Pharmacy, or equivalent FPGEC (NABP).
  • Unrestricted pharmacist license in good standing in the state of Ohio.
  • Must be willing to obtain and maintain licenses in multiple states.
Other Skills or Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of direct patient care experience in pharmacy is required.
  • 5+ years of pharmacy management experience preferred.
  • BLS is required (or must be willing to obtain within 1 week after starting).
  • Immunization delivery certification is preferred (or must be willing to obtain within 3 months after starting).
  • Specialty pharmacy experience is preferred.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to handle multiple things simultaneously.
  • Comfortable with technology and the ability to adapt to new systems.
  • The position may require some travel; must be willing to travel and have reliable transportation.

Additional Requirements:
  • Tuberculosis (TB) Screening: Documentation of a negative screening conducted within the last 12 months.
  • Hepatitis B: Proof of a completed vaccine series or positive blood titers from within the last 12 months.
  • Measles, Mumps, & Rubella (MMR): Proof of a completed vaccine series or positive blood titers from within the last 12 months.
  • Varicella (Chickenpox): Proof of vaccination, documented medical history of the disease, or positive blood titers from within the last 12 months.
  • Tdap (Tetanus, Diphtheria, Pertussis): Documentation of a booster administered within the last 10 years.
  • Influenza: Proof of vaccination for the current flu season.
  • COVID-19: Documentation of primary vaccine series and any boosters administered.
  • General: Additional health requirements may be requested as necessary.
