Job summary

Baptist Health in Louisville, KY is seeking a Specialty Pharmacy Care Coordinator to join our team. You will work to ensure patient access to high-touch, complex therapies and coordinate with insurers, nursing, social workers, and pharmacy to obtain necessary authorizations.

Responsibilities include benefit investigations, prior authorization support, copay assistance coordination, and tracking outcomes to demonstrate value of services.

Qualifications

• Pharmacy technician experience is required.
• Experience with third party billing, financial counseling, or medical terminology and coding is preferred.
• Registration with Kentucky Board of Pharmacy by hire date is required.

Responsibilities

• Completes benefit investigations to verify patient eligibility for prescribed specialty medications.
• Maintains current knowledge of payer formularies and reimbursement.
• Supports prior authorization processes to improve speed to therapy for new patients.
• Triages patient or caregiver questions and forwards to the pharmacist as needed.
• Maintains accurate insurance information and monitors renewal needs to avoid gaps in therapy.
• Acts as primary contact with patients for specialty medication needs and coordinates with clinicians.
