Job summary

Riverside Regional Medical Center in Newport News, Virginia is seeking a Part-time Specialty Pharmacy Technician to support prior authorizations, benefit investigations and patient assistance programs under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.

You will coordinate with patients, providers, payers and manufacturers to facilitate timely medication approvals and therapy initiation, document accurately in the patient record, and maintain HIPAA-compliant workflows.

Qualifications

Program graduate with Pharmacy Technician Training or equivalent; LPN or CMA acceptable.
3–4 years experience as Pharmacy Technician, LPN, or CMA required.
Experience with prior authorizations and patient assistance programs preferred.

Responsibilities

Timely processing of referrals and prior authorization submissions.
Coordinate with departments to obtain prior authorizations and patient assistance.
Document medical necessity and maintain up-to-date records in tracking systems.
Maintain HIPAA-compliant handling of patient information.
Support inspections, audits, and training to ensure quality service.
