Aspirus Specialty Clinic in Wausau, WI is seeking a Specialty Pharmacy Coordinator to join our team. This role coordinates patient access, therapy initiation, and ongoing care in collaboration with prescribers, pharmacists, nurses, and interdisciplinary teams.

You will handle benefits investigations, prior authorizations, and appeals, enroll patients in copay assistance programs, maintain documentation in the EHR, and support transitions of care.

Qualifications

• Pharmacy degree from an accredited school.
• Wisconsin pharmacist license is required.
• Experience in health-system or integrated specialty pharmacy preferred.
• Knowledge of specialty disease states and payer requirements.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate specialty medication referrals and ensure timely access.
• Serve as central contact for patients, prescribers, pharmacists and care teams.
• Perform benefits investigation, prior authorizations, reauthorizations and appeals.
• Facilitate enrollment in copay and patient assistance programs.
• Maintain accurate documentation in EHR, pharmacy systems, and payer portals.
• Support transitions of care and discharge planning for specialty meds.
• Educate patients on process, timelines, and financial assistance options.
• Escalate clinical or financial concerns to pharmacists or providers promptly.
