Advanced Practice Provider - Cardiac Electrophysiology, Piedmont Heart Institute

Piedmont Heart Institute (PHI), located in Atlanta, is recruiting for a full-time Cardiac Electrophysiology Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner to join our outpatient clinics in the North corridor, including Jasper, Canton, Ellijay, and occasional Blairsville. This is a full-time outpatient position, Monday through Friday only, with no hospital coverage.

This is an excellent opportunity to work within a leading cardiovascular healthcare system alongside renowned electrophysiologists. We seek knowledgeable, motivated, and dedicated APPs who value autonomous yet collaborative work environments.

Our APPs provide specialized care for patients before and after electrophysiology procedures, including EP studies, ablations, CIED implantation, LAAO implants, and management of diverse arrhythmias. You will also become competent in device interrogation and interpretation. The role requires decision-making skills, with candidates ideally experienced in working independently in a clinical setting.

Responsibilities

  • Perform high-quality patient assessments and management under indirect physician supervision, adhering to regulations and evidence-based practices.
  • Travel to clinic sites in Jasper, Canton, Ellijay, and occasionally Blairsville.
  • Manage patient care independently in outpatient clinics, coordinating with electrophysiologists.
  • Order and schedule diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
  • Participate in clinical trials and undergo relevant training.
  • Manage trial patients alongside electrophysiologists.
  • Work 40 hours per week, either four 10-hour days or five 8-hour days with administrative time included.
  • Travel to Piedmont Atlanta Hospital for training.
  • Participate in training of other APPs and nurses.
  • Communicate effectively and work cooperatively with the healthcare team, demonstrating respect and teamwork.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner program.
  • Board Certified Physician Assistant or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner.
  • Current license from the Georgia State Board.
  • BLS/ACLS certification.
  • At least 2 years of general cardiology experience or 1 year of electrophysiology experience.
