Job summary

Garden Trends Inc. in Rochester, NY is seeking a Seasonal Specialty Order Packer to support the Fulfillment team during peak shipping periods. You will verify items, select packing materials, and ensure orders are securely prepared to meet deadlines.

This role requires attention to detail, ability to follow written and verbal instructions, and reliability in a fast-paced warehouse. Prior packing or fulfillment experience is helpful but not required; training is provided.

Responsibilities

• Verify product items and quantities against pick tickets before packing.
• Inspect products and packaging; promptly report shortages, damage, discrepancies, or delays that could affect accuracy or on-time shipment.
• Select appropriately sized boxes and packing materials to prevent damage and avoid unnecessary material use and shipping costs.
• Pack and seal orders securely to protect heavy, bulky, or specialty items during transit and reduce damage, returns, and replacement costs. Keep cartons organized by customer order.
• Apply required labels and identify cartons according to department procedures.
• Move completed orders to designated shipping or staging areas; assist with palletizing and wrapping as trained.
• Keep workstations clean, organized, and stocked with packing supplies.
• Follow safety procedures and proper lifting practices.
• Meet established order accuracy and productivity expectations while maintaining packaging quality and completing orders by required shipping deadlines.
• Assist with other fulfillment duties as assigned.

Job Summary

The Specialty Order Packer supports the Fulfillment department during peak shipping periods by preparing heavy, oversized, bulky, and specialty products for shipment. This position is responsible for verifying order accuracy, selecting appropriate packaging materials, safely handling products, and ensuring orders are securely packaged and prepared to meet established shipping deadlines.

Physical Requirements / Work Environment

This position works primarily in a warehouse environment. Essential duties involve frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, and repetitive packing tasks, with or without reasonable accommodation.

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Ability to bend, reach, and perform repetitive packing tasks.
• Ability to lift and move items weighing up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation. Use team assistance or appropriate equipment for heavier or awkward items.
