Flower City Group in Rochester, NY is seeking a Kitpacking Supervisor to ensure on-time shipment of kit packing projects. You will set up production lines, supervise line leads, and train staff on safety, quality, delivery and flexibility.

The role includes overseeing daily production, optimizing efficiency, and maintaining a clean, organized facility while coordinating with the Facility Manager and HR on staffing. Training may occur on A Shift before transitioning to B Shift.

• Analyze efficiencies on the line (actual vs estimated).
• Facilitate orderly breakdown and put away once jobs are complete.
• Train Flower City Group employees, as well as temporary workers, and communicate their responsibility in adhering to the four operating principles: Safety, Quality, Delivery and Flexibility.
• Ensure that the facility is always kept in a clean and orderly fashion.

Schedule

This position is for our B Shift, Monday-Friday : 4:00 PM-12:30 AMwith weekends based on business need

• Candidates must be willing to train on our A Shift: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-4:30 PM
• Training may last up to three months, depending on your learning pace and readiness to transition independently to the B Shift.

Summary/Objective

Under the direction of the Kitpacking Manager, the Kitpacking Supervisor works to ensure all jobs are shipped out on time and in an orderly manner.

Essential Functions

• Work with Facility Manager, as well as the Human Resources Department to maintain a supply of candidates to fill openings as workflow dictates. Maintain an up-to-date phone contact list.
• Assists the Facility Manager with additional tasks as requested.
• Performs all other tasks/duties as may be assigned by Manager.
• Seeks guidance and direction as necessary for performance of duties.
• Demonstrates good judgment in investigating problems.
• Respects the confidentiality of company information.
• Maintains cooperative working relationship with supervisor.
• Demonstrates ability to tactfully handle difficult situations.

Requirements/Qualifications

• Proven success in a warehouse or fulfillment environment
• Excellent verbal and communication skills
• Strong background in production/manufacturing scheduling

Preferred Education and Experience

• A two-year degree or equivalent from a technical school
• Two (2) years of work experience or an equivalent of four (4) years in the industry

Physical Demands

• Regularly required to talk or hear.

• Frequently required to stand and walk.
• Occasionally required to reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and use foot/feet to operate machine.
• Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.The employee must be able to work under pressure with ever changing deadlines and priorities.
