Job Description

Responsible for executing the day-to-day activities of the team. Manage assignments based on prioritization and direction, raising issues as appropriate. The Consultant II performs thorough analysis, handles moderately complex tasks, and works independently with minimal guidance. Supports the Voluntary Reinsurance Administration and Run-off Property-Liability segment Controller teams in analysis, communication, and recording financial results. Proactively anticipates issues, assesses impact, and recommends and executes solutions to achieve business objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Respond to and coordinate internal and external inquiries and requests
  • Review claims for accuracy of reinsurance cessions
  • Prepare quarterly and annual statutory and GAAP financial statements and schedules
  • Calculate, record, bill, and collect/pay reinsurance recoveries, premiums, adjustments, and accruals
  • Implement results through settlements or formal rulings
  • Coordinate communication regarding reinsurance disputes
  • Collaborate within the team and across business units
  • Participate in and initiate process improvement projects
  • Ensure compliance with reporting requirements related to liquidations
  • Identify financially troubled reinsured companies
  • Administer reinsurance contracts, including recoverables and contract terms
  • Manage reinsurance collateral requirements
  • Record, analyze, and reconcile reinsurance financial transactions

Education

  • 4-year Bachelor's Degree (Preferred)
  • Fields: Finance, Accounting, Insurance, Reinsurance

Experience

  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience (Preferred)
  • Knowledge of insurance, reinsurance, finance, and accounting concepts including Statutory, GAAP, and Schedule F (Preferred)

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • No supervisory duties associated with this role

Compensation

Annual salary ranges from $57,500 to $100,212.50, based on experience and qualifications.
