Job summary

Fortegra seeks a Specialty Operations Analyst to support the Specialty team’s processes, onboarding, and due diligence for MGA opportunities in a fast-paced environment. The role partners with Underwriters and cross-functional teams to maintain data quality and streamline operations.

Responsibilities include managing due diligence, preparing project plans, and enhancing processes across Underwriting and Operations, while leveraging Hubspot and Monday.com for efficiency and accuracy.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or 3+ years related experience.
  • 3+ years insurance experience, working for an insurance carrier or program/MGU/MGA.
  • Exposure to project management best practices.
  • Insurance education preferred but not required.

  • Assist the due diligence process for new MGA opportunities with a focus on specialty and commercial products.
  • Undertake operational due diligence activities and provide recommendations for executive approval.
  • Assist with the renewal due diligence process for existing MGA programs.
  • Prepare and present project plans, status reports and operational reports.
  • Evaluate and improve operational processes across Underwriting and the Operations team.
  • Consult, advise, guide and resolve issues across all functional departments.
  • Communicate effectively with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Work closely with Legal and Compliance to ensure processes are compliant and data available for reporting.
  • Support, advise, assist, guide, and resolve problems for functional leaders.
  • Champion internal tools like Monday.com and Hubspot in coordination with Marketing.

Job description

The Specialty Operations Analyst responsibilities will include:
1) Assist with process, procedures and documentation efforts for the Specialty team.
2) Act as a business partner to Specialty Underwriters to assist with operational aspects of their program(s). Over time with experience, this will include some exposure and responsibilities for onboarding of new MGU/MGA program partners.
3) Become a lead subject matter expert for Hubspot, Monday.com and other related tools
4) Ensuring data quality is paramount for onboarding and program maintenance of our MGA partners.
5) Various ad-hoc special projects
The primary purpose of this role will be to assist the Operations teams with managing the operational processes surrounding due diligence and onboarding for new MGA opportunities.

This role requires a basic understanding of the MGA program landscape and the insurance industry.

Work is performed in a fast-paced environment within tight time constraints. The individual must be entrepreneurially focused, have a “roll-up your sleeves” mentality and be curious about the business.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or 3+ years related experience.
  • 3+ plus years insurance experience, working for an insurance carrier or insurance program/MGU/MGA.
  • Commercial P&C insurance experience is preferred.
  • Exposure to project management best practices.
  • Insurance education preferred but not required.
Primary Job Functions
  • Assist the due diligence process for new MGA opportunities with a focus on specialty and commercial products.

  • Support, advise, assist, guide, and resolve problems for functional leaders.
  • Effectively use and champion various internal tools, including Monday.com and Hubspot, while working closely with Marketing.
  • Partner with functional teams to resolve issues and implement application enhancements.
  • Participate in the preparation of long-range systems plans and assure that they are in concert with business objectives and goals.
  • Other duties as assigned.
