Job summary

Tampa General Hospital is seeking a Medication History Pharmacy Technician 2 to provide advanced support for pharmacists and clinicians. Qualifications

• Obtain, update, and document an accurate medication list in the patient’s EHR at admission and discharge.
• Update patient allergy history and preferred pharmacy information in the EHR.
• Compare patient medication lists to identify differences and escalate discrepancies to the supervising pharmacist.
• Use patient, family, hospital records, and external history to ensure the medication list is complete and correct.
• Comply with documentation requirements, including PHI disclosures, and follow supervisor notification procedures.
• Perform PPE procedures and maintain infection-control standards while performing duties.

Responsibilities

• Obtain, update, and document an accurate medication list in the EHR at admission and discharge using interviews and electronic resources.
• Update allergy history and preferred pharmacy information in the EHR to support reconciliation.
• Compare medication lists across admission, hospitalization, and discharge and elevate discrepancies.
• Use multiple sources to ensure the medication list is complete and correct.
• Follow all documentation rules and supervisor notification procedures for dispensing incidents or PHI disclosures.
• Maintain infection-control standards and complete all other technician duties as assigned.
