Job description

I am working with a rapidly growing firm based in the US that is looking for a Specialty Pricing Actuary (near-ACAS to FCAS). This role can be fully remote. They are seeking an extremely commercial, business-minded student actuary/qualified actuary to join their high-performing team.

You will report to an Actuarial Director who is passionate about the training and development of junior actuaries. The hiring manager has experience developing both actuaries and non-actuaries, offering tremendous support and fostering early career growth. This is a fantastic environment for highly ambitious individuals who aim to consistently outperform expectations.

The three main areas of responsibilityof the role include:

• Enhancing rating processes

• Portfolio management and deep dives

• Technical ratemaking

The ideal candidate:

• Has 3+ years of experience, ideally in Specialty or Commercial Lines Pricing (or Reserving with Portfolio experience); near-ACAS or FCAS

• Holds a strong academic track record– bonus if you have a PhD or Master’s from a top school. Career shifters (e.g. ex-researchers who moved into P&C Insurance) are also welcome

• Demonstrates a track record of high achievement (academically or professionally) and a strong work ethic

• Is eager to work in a fast-paced, commercial environment, excited to take ownership of their work

• Has a curious mindset, always looking to improve existing processes
