Specialty Gas Sales Specialist
Oxygen Service Company

Salary range: $49,799 annually - $74,698 annually

Purpose of the Position:

The Specialty Gas Sales Specialist is responsible for supporting the company’s sales goals, specifically related to Specialty Gas Sales Growth. They will work directly with the sales department at all locations to develop new business opportunities, maintain relationships with existing customers, and drive sales growth in the Specialty Gas sector. Following the company’s sales process and providing excellent customer service, they are to develop and maintain high-quality relationships with our customers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Develop and maintain relationships with industrial, medical, and laboratory customers to promote Specialty Gas sales
  2. ID and pursue new business opportunities within the specialty gas market
  3. Provide customers with information on specialty gas products, applications, and safety guidelines
  4. Prepare and deliver sales presentations tailored to customer needs
  5. Negotiate product supply agreements and pricing to close sales while ensuring profitability
  6. Work closely with operations and logistics team to ensure timely delivery and service
  7. Stay abreast of market conditions regarding gas applications, service offerings, and new product offerings
  8. Utilize company Pipeline document to track gas sales opportunities
  9. Follow and execute the Track Selling Process utilizing the Value Proposition Tool
  10. Communicate and cultivate the Core Values of OSC internally and externally
  11. Attend and participate in biweekly L-10 meetings
Other Responsibilities:
  • Perform other job duties as assigned
Education, Experience, and Skills:
  • High School diploma or equivalency
  • Associates Degree or Certificate in business-related field is a plus
  • 5+ years experience in sales for industrial, medical, or specialty gases preferred
  • Valid Class D Driver’s License
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite and ERP Software
  • Ability to work alone, influence opinions, attitudes, and judgments
  • Must be organized and have good time management skills, with the ability to perform effectively under tight deadlines
  • Demonstrate professionalism, superior people skills, and strong oral and written communication skills
  • Must be a team player capable of communicating with all levels within an organization
Equipment Used:
  • Company-provided equipment such as vehicles, telephones, and computers/laptops. Hand/Power tools; hand cart; 2-wheel dollies. Office equipment and computer programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and ERP Software.
  • Safety gear such as safety glasses, hard hat, welding gear, etc., when needed.
Job Specifications/Requirements:

Ability to stand on your feet 5-6 hours per day with lots of walking, twisting, bending, reaching, lifting/carrying, grasping, and repetitive motions. Travel 80% of the day in the field, with the opportunity to be home every night. Occasional lifting of 45 lbs is required, may at times lift up to 75 lbs. Occasional pushing/pulling of 25 lbs up to 75 lbs may happen. When on call, must be available 24 hours a day to handle customer emergency phone calls. Ability to work in moderately warm or cold conditions where high noise levels are possible.
