Location: Glendale, CA - Retail shop

How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW?

Position: Specialty Gas Sales Specialist
Location: Glendale, CA and surrounding areas
Target Salary Range: $95k - $118k (DOE)

The Specialty Gas Sales Specialist is responsible for driving growth of Specialty Gas Products to existing and prospective customers. This role involves direct sales and collaboration with account managers, focusing on product management, market growth, and development to meet business and sales objectives in the assigned geography.

  1. Drive Specialty Gas sales within the assigned geography by identifying key growth markets or products and developing strategies to capture that growth.
  2. Support account managers to increase sales of Specialty Gas within their portfolios.
  3. Maintain strong working relationships with Account Managers, District Managers, Area Vice Presidents, and other Specialists.
  4. Provide engineering, technical support, training, safety, and service for all customer Specialty Gas needs.
  5. Establish processes for continuous market data collection on customer needs, market trends, and competitors.
  6. Utilize sales and marketing materials to promote Airgas initiatives aligned with regional growth strategies.
  7. Enhance selling skills and technical knowledge through training and self-directed learning.
  8. Complete and submit sales paperwork promptly, including reports and correspondence.
  9. Maintain CRM tools daily to support business growth.
  10. Perform special projects and other duties as assigned.

Are you a MATCH?
  • High School Diploma; Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Minimum 5 years of outside sales experience
  • Knowledge of industrial gases, welding supplies, and hardware is desirable
  • Proven change management skills including stakeholder engagement
  • Valid driver’s license and personal vehicle with insurance
  • Ability to multitask in a high-volume environment
  • Strong analytical, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Team-oriented with a focus on continuous improvement
  • Basic math skills and proficiency with computer applications like Word, Excel, SAP
  • Professional presence suitable for a corporate environment
  • Energetic, self-starter, with excellent customer service and relationship skills
  • Ability to interpret business documents and regulations, and present information effectively
