Job description

An opportunity has arisen for a doctor to join a fantastic Stroke team at a Hospital in Wales. This is a substantive post, but candidates interested in a fixed-term role will also be considered.

Current team members include one Stroke Consultant, four Stroke specialist nurses, four junior doctors, and a medical registrar. The current Stroke Consultant is very friendly, supportive, and flexible.

The hospital is located in a beautiful town with charming villages, excellent housing options, and is under an hour from Central London. The town offers quiet courtyards, town gardens, and a vibrant mix of shops, pubs, bars, and cafes.

Post Responsibilities:
  1. Care of patients in charge, including all administrative duties.
  2. Contributing to undergraduate, postgraduate, and continuing medical education.
  3. Providing cover for colleagues' leave in accordance with Trust policies.
  4. Participating in clinical audits and continuing medical education.
  5. Providing evidence-based care in a multidisciplinary setting.
  6. Handling emergencies and unforeseen circumstances as needed.
Eligibility Criteria:
  • Full GMC registration.
  • For international applicants, completion of the required language tests (IELTS/OET/NARIC) and meeting UKVI language requirements.
Additional Information:

Consultant candidates may join the General Medical Rota. Associate Specialists can participate in a 1-in-8 weekend rota, working 0800-1400 on Saturdays and Sundays if desired.
