The Royal Lancaster Infirmary is looking for 2 Specialty Doctors in Paediatrics to join our team at the Middle-Grade Level.
The post is based in the Paediatric Department at Royal Lancaster Infirmary, where you will be part of a team delivering day-to-day care for patients on the Children's Ward and Neonatal Unit.
You will be required to participate in the 1:8 resident on-call rota, which includes night duties, day shifts, and weekends.
You will work as a member of a team of middle-grade doctors on a full shift system. The clinical duties include:
You will be encouraged to actively participate in audit, research, and training within the team. Additionally, you will contribute to the teaching program for junior doctors and help protect their teaching time during allocated sessions.
We operate from three main hospitals: Furness General Hospital (FGH) in Barrow, the Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI), and Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) in Kendal, along with various community health care premises including Millom Hospital, Queen Victoria Hospital in Morecambe, and Ulverston Community Health Centre.
FGH and RLI offer a range of general hospital services, including Emergency Departments, Critical/Coronary Care units, and various Consultant-led services.
WGH provides general hospital services and an Urgent Treatment Centre for non-life-threatening conditions such as minor injuries and illnesses.
All three hospitals provide outpatient services, diagnostics, therapies, day cases, and inpatient surgeries. We also offer outreach services and diagnostics across Morecambe Bay.
Our community services for adults are delivered in homes, community centers, clinics, GP Practices, and community hospitals. Our goal is to support independence, improve health, and help manage conditions through high-quality care, advice, and support.
