Job summary

Rodeo Dental in Tucson, AZ is seeking a skilled Registered Dental Assistant to support clinicians during exams and procedures. You will prepare trays, handle chairside assistance, take X-rays when required, and help maintain patient comfort and safety.

The ideal candidate will have an active RDA license, CPR certification, and familiarity with Open Dental or Dentrix. Bilingual Spanish speakers are preferred to serve our diverse patient base.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Active RDA license registered with the Texas State Board of Dental Examiners (TSBDE)
  • CPR certification preferred
  • Nitrous oxide monitoring certification
  • Maintain annual OSHA, HIPAA and Infection Control training
  • Dental practice management software experience (Open Dental/Dentrix) helpful
  • Bilingual Spanish preferred

Responsibilities

  • End of week inventory to replenish inventory
  • Provide patient and team safety priority
  • Adhere to OSHA and Infection Control protocols
  • Maintain and update digital patient information
  • Prepare tray setups according to doctor preferences
  • Keep exam rooms clean, disinfected, stocked, and organized
  • Educate patients and parents on oral health
  • Monitor patient well-being during visits
  • Review patient charts and health history before doctor arrival
  • Take diagnostic X-Rays and attach to chart
  • Support team with office cleanliness and IC protocol
  • Complete daily assignments
  • Monitor patient vital signs
  • Assist with dental procedures and orthodontics
  • Set up and remove braces components
  • Prepare retainers, bleaching trays, and impressions
  • Maintain crash cart equipment and supplies
  • Work with sedated patients in office and hospital settings
  • Provide excellent chairside assistance and anticipate next steps
  • Explain post-op instructions to patients and parents

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • End of week inventory to be provided to Lead DA to replenish inventory
  • Making Patient Safety and Team Safety the number one priority
  • Adhering to OSHA and Infection Control Protocols
  • Maintaining and upkeeping digital patient information
  • Preparing tray set-ups according to doctor preferences and planned procedures
  • Keep exam rooms clean, disinfected, organized, and stocked according to the required standards at the beginning and end of each treatment
  • Educating patients and parents on the benefits of good oral health
  • Monitoring the patient's physical and emotional well-being during the entire visit
  • Reviewing the patient chart and health history prior to the doctor arrival and reconfirming the patient's chief concern
  • Taking diagnostic quality X-Rays and attaching them to the patient chart
  • Helping the Rodeo Team maintain office cleanliness and IC protocol
  • Completing daily assignments
  • Monitoring and recording patient vital signs
  • Suctioning, cutting sutures, and holding retractors
  • Mixing amalgam, cement, and pulp paste and preparing impression materials
  • Pouring, trimming, and polishing impression trays
  • Assisting with bonding, banding, adjusting, and debonding orthodontic patients
  • Placing and cementing bands
  • Setting up orthodontic brackets and removing excess cement from brackets and bands
  • Making retainers, bleaching trays, and impressions
  • Maintaining crash cart equipment and supplies
  • Working with oral and IV sedated patients in office and hospital settings
  • Providing excellent chairside assistance and anticipating next steps to stay in constant mental synchronization with the doctor
  • Ensuring the patient and parent comprehends the post-op instructions
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Prolonged sitting and standing as needed
  • Ability to lift up to 15 lbs
