Qualifications

  • Active CADC/CRADC certification in good standing with the State of Illinois is required.
  • Minimum of two years of supervisory experience preferred.
  • Experience with specialty court treatment programs preferred.
  • Strong understanding of evidence-based, trauma-informed, person-centered practices.

Overview

Are you an experienced behavioral health professional looking for an opportunity to provide leadership while supporting individuals involved in specialty court programs? Chestnut Health Systems is seeking a Specialty Courts Treatment Coordinator to oversee and coordinate integrated outpatient treatment services for clients and their support systems.

This lead-level position provides supervision and guidance to clinicians, recovery and employment specialists, case managers, and interns while helping ensure specialty court services are accessible, coordinated, trauma-informed, person-centered, and recovery-oriented. The role works closely with clients, families, court personnel, probation departments, community partners, and Chestnut programs to support treatment engagement and positive outcomes.

The Treatment Coordinator will also play an active role in clinical service delivery, staff development, quality improvement, and coordination of specialty court programming.

Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership, supervision, and coordination of specialty court treatment services
  • Supervise assigned clinicians, recovery/employment specialists, case managers, and interns, including providing guidance, feedback, and timely performance evaluations
  • Provide clinical supervision for staff working toward substance use counseling certification, as appropriate
  • Ensure specialty court services meet applicable behavioral health, ASAM, IM+CANS, DSM, CCBHC, Joint Commission, funder, and Chestnut standards
  • Promote evidence-based, trauma-informed, person-centered, integrated, and recovery-oriented practices
  • Support staff competency and professional development through training related to evidence-based practices, trauma-informed care, integrated care, and care coordination
  • Conduct screenings and comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments for individuals entering or being considered for specialty court programming
  • Identify behavioral health, physical health, social determinant of health, and recovery needs to support individualized treatment planning
  • Provide and facilitate individual, family, and group behavioral health services across specialty court programs
  • Coordinate specialty court programming, including group counseling, transportation, randomized drug screening, individual counseling, case management, community support, and family education
  • Ensure services are provided in settings that are accessible and appropriate for clients and their support systems, including court and community-based locations
  • Maintain timely, accurate, and clinically appropriate documentation in the EMR, TRACKER, and other required systems
  • Facilitate team meetings and promote comprehensive care coordination among specialty court staff, clients, families, probation departments, community organizations, and internal Chestnut programs
  • Collaborate with programs such as Central Access, the Health Center, and residential services to support integrated, whole-person care
  • Participate in quality assurance and continuous quality improvement activities using data and measurable outcomes to identify opportunities for improvement
  • Promote health equity, client engagement, retention, care coordination, positive client experiences, and effective treatment outcomes
  • Model and promote Chestnut’s recovery values, including hope, respect, empowerment, health and wellness, self-determination, connection, purpose, and spirituality
  • Maintain confidentiality and security of organizational and client information
  • Promote Chestnut’s culture of customer service excellence
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in a human services field OR bachelor’s degree with at least five (5) years of human services experience OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • Active Certified Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselor (CADC) or Certified Reciprocal AODA Counselor (CRADC) certification in good standing with the State of Illinois
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience working with specialty court treatment programs preferred
  • Two (2) years of supervisory experience preferred
  • Experience providing behavioral health or substance use treatment services preferred
  • Strong understanding of evidence-based, trauma-informed, person-centered, and recovery-oriented practices
  • Ability to provide leadership, supervision, training, and clinical guidance to multidisciplinary staff
  • Strong organizational, communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with clients, families, court personnel, probation departments, community organizations, and internal programs
  • Basic computer skills and experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, videoconferencing, and electronic medical record (EMR) systems
  • Valid driver’s license, private automobile insurance, and ability to be insured
  • Ability to travel regularly within the designated service area and work in office, court, community, and client-based settings
  • Ability to work some evening and occasional weekend hours based on client and program needs

The anticipated starting pay for new hires for this position is between $49,000 - $55,000 annual salary. There are several factors taken into consideration in determining base pay, including but not limited to: job-related qualifications, skills, education, experience, local market conditions, and internal equity.
