Job summary

Guckenheimer is seeking a culinary professional to join our full-time dining team in Poway, CA. The role focuses on preparing meals in a high-volume environment, following recipes, and delivering consistent quality to guests.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years of scratch-cooking experience, a hospitality mindset, and the ability to work under pressure while maintaining excellent guest service and communication. Health benefits and a comprehensive leave program are provided.

Hourly Wage

Guckenheimer offers full-time employees a variety of benefits including medical, dental, life, and disability insurance, as well as a comprehensive leave program based on employment status. The hourly pay range for this position is $23.00 per hour - $24.00 per hour.

Work Hours

The work hours for this position are approximately 6:00 am - 2:30 pm, Mon-Fri.

Key Purpose

Season and cook food following recipes and instructions from a wide array of international cuisines, presenting them in an exhibition style and to order. Go above and beyond to create a unique, healthy, and delicious user experience through thoughtfully prepared plates and dishes.

  • Lead by example through the daily practice and adherence of company policies/procedures, HACCP, and Cleaning Procedures
Ideal Candidate Experience
  • Culinary degree preferred, but not required
  • 3+ years of experience in a scratch-cooking culinary position
  • Experience in multiple, high-volume service platforms (e.g. Hotel, Fine Dining, Banquet (catering), Corporate Dining)
  • Practical experience in International Cuisines
  • Hospitality focused

Physical Demands & Work Environment
  • Work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 8 hours)
  • Reach, bend, stoop, push, and/or pull, and frequently lift up to 35 pounds
  • Utilize team lift, transportation carts, and any other means of assistance when dealing with heavy loads
  • Come to work properly dressed and in accordance to the dress code
  • Employee must be able to work under pressure and time deadlines during peak periods
