Job summary

Ascension is seeking a pharmacist for the Seton Medical Center Austin Pharmacy Department in Austin, TX. The role focuses on reviewing complex medication orders, providing clinical guidance, and ensuring safe, accurate compounding and dispensing of medications for patients.

Minimum requirements include Texas State Board of Pharmacy licensure and a Doctoral or Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy. Enrollment in PGY1/PGY2 or Board certification are preferred for career growth.

Qualifications

• Pharmacist credentialed from the Texas State Board of Pharmacy required.
• Bachelor's or advanced degree in Pharmacy required.

Responsibilities

• Ensure patient safety by reviewing and optimizing complex medication orders for appropriate selection and dosing in specialized areas (e.g., oncology, cardiology).
• Review and prevent drug-related problems to resolve potential and actual medication issues, safeguarding patient care.
• Serve as a clinical expert, providing essential drug information and consultative guidance to physicians and clinical teams.
• Oversee all technical pharmacy personnel, ensuring the accurate compounding and dispensing of medications for optimal patient delivery.
