Job summary

Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk, VA is seeking a Specialty Clinical Pharmacist for the Case Management team. The role provides safe, effective, and prompt pharmacy services, manages patient drug therapy, and serves as the primary drug information resource.

The successful candidate will have a PharmD, Virginia license, BLS; ACLS preferred. Rotating day shifts, 40 hours weekly, and opportunities for precepting students and professional development are offered.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy required
  • Doctorate in Pharmacy preferred
  • Virginia Pharmacist License required
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) required
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide safe, effective, and prompt pharmacy services
  • Manage patient drug therapy per clinical standards
  • Assure appropriateness of all provider medication orders
  • Maintain knowledge of meds and disease states
  • Provide in-depth patient counseling when required
  • Precept pharmacy students as assigned
  • Operate pharmacy equipment
  • Ensure quality assurance per dept and legal requirements
