Job summary

Great American Insurance Group invites interns to explore Corporate Claims through meaningful assignments across Operations, SIU, and Reinsurance. Interns will gain hands-on experience in claims handling, investigation, and negotiation while meeting professionals across functions.

Applicants should be current bachelor’s degree students (Insurance & Risk Management encouraged) with a GPA around 3.5 preferred.

Qualifications

• GPA 3.5 preferred, 3.0 minimum.
• Proven leadership through work, campus involvement or activities.
• Strong communication, analytical, planning, and organizing skills.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently.
• Current student in a bachelor’s degree program; Insurance & Risk Management majors encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Assist Claims Operations and SIU teams with internships tasks and documentation.
• Support potential exposure to Social Media Investigations and case work.
• Learn and perform functions using claims systems, databases, and tools.
• Engage in seminars, workshops, and training like Claims College and GAIG programs.
• Shadow team members to understand end-to-end claims processes and writing.
