Job summary

Providence Swedish is seeking a Specialty Chaplain to provide professional and compassionate spiritual care across inpatient, outpatient, and community settings. Qualifications

  • Master's Degree or equivalent in theology/spiritual care relevant to chaplaincy boards.
  • Completion of four CPE units.
  • National Chaplain Certification within 3 years of hire.
  • Minimum 5 years of clinical/pastoral experience in healthcare settings.

Responsibilities

  • Provide professional spiritual care and emotional support to patients, families, and caregivers in inpatient, outpatient, and community settings.
  • Lead implementation of Providence Swedish Mission and Values and department policies.
  • Serve as a leader of the healthcare team in spiritual health services and facility operations.

Required Qualifications


  • Master's Degree in Theology, Divinity, Spirituality, Pastoral Ministry or relevant religious studies similarly accepted in chaplaincy board certifying organizations.

  • Coursework/Training: Four clinical pastoral education units.

  • Within 3 years of hire: National Chaplain Certification.

  • 5 years Clinical and/or pastoral experience in healthcare setting.


Preferred Qualifications


  • Leadership in professional organizations such as APC, NACC, etc.

  • Participation in chaplain related, publication worthy research.

Posted are the minimum and the maximum wage rates on the wage range for this position. The successful candidate's placement on the wage range for this position will be determined based upon relevant job experience and other applicable factors. These amounts are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
