GENERAL SUMMARY & SCOPE

The Specialty Beauty Advisor – Clinique (SBA – Clinique) is responsible for maximizing sales in the Clinique brand (including color cosmetics, skincare, and fragrance) by engaging guests, assisting in product selection, and maintaining store standards, including cleanliness and replenishment. They represent the image, products, and culture of Ulta Beauty and Clinique, supporting the Experience Manager through performance, people, and process focus. A passion for beauty, exceptional guest service, and product knowledge are essential.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

The SBA - Clinique demonstrates Ulta Beauty’s mission, vision, and values through:

Performance
  • Achieving sales and clientele goals for Clinique, contributing to store objectives.
  • Providing exceptional guest service, including greeting, engaging, sampling, and recommending products.
  • Performing makeup applications, skincare analysis, and product demonstrations.
  • Supporting in-store events and appointments to enhance guest experience and sales.
  • Building customer relationships and maintaining contact lists for Clinique sales.
  • Informing guests about current promotions and services.
  • Staying informed about new products and trends.
  • Maintaining regular attendance.
People
  • Fostering an inclusive environment supporting teammates and guests.
  • Promoting the guest loyalty program and app.
  • Maintaining relationships with Clinique brand partners through training and events.
  • Collaborating with team members to grow the business.
  • Participating in ongoing training for professional development.
Process
  • Adhering to company policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Following dress code and brand assets guidelines.
  • Keeping work areas replenished and presentable.
  • Maintaining store operational standards and cleanliness.
  • Participating in merchandise resets, inventory, and shipment processing.
  • Following loss prevention practices and executing operational tasks.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Education

  • High school diploma preferred.
  • Cosmetology or demonstrator license as required by law.

Experience

  • Cosmetics artistry experience preferred.

Skills

  • Strong sales, product, and service competency.
  • Ability to build and maintain customer relationships.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team.
  • Proactive guest concern handling and multitasking skills.
  • Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
SPECIAL POSITION REQUIREMENTS
  • Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Participation in brand training.
WORKING CONDITIONS
  • Frequent mobility, standing, bending, and reaching.
  • Lifting/moving up to 10 lbs.
  • Coordination and manipulation of objects.
