Narvie J. Job Responsibilities

Ensure cleanliness, sanitation, and upkeep of all areas within assigned buildings, including educational facilities, to maintain a safe and healthy environment. Perform deep cleaning and floor maintenance during school closures, working under supervision as an entry-level individual contributor.

• Maintain cleanliness of school facilities including classrooms, restrooms, hallways, cafeterias, and outdoor areas.
• Perform cleaning tasks such as sweeping, vacuuming, dusting, mopping, and trash removal.
• Restock restroom supplies and manage inventory of cleaning materials and equipment.
• Set up and clean cafeteria spaces for food service operations.
• Move furniture and equipment for school activities or functions.
• Collaborate with custodial staff and school personnel to complete tasks.
• Remain on-site during authorized periods for special activities.
• Respond promptly to cleaning requests and emergency cleaning tasks.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Custodian: A high school diploma or GED is required.

Custodian Train Crew: A high school diploma or GED is required; employees must complete internal training upon hire.

Custodian Tech: Must enroll in the GED and IET program within six months of hire and complete it within 12 months.
