Job summary

GSK is seeking a field-based Specialty Account Professional in Reading, PA to engage specialist customers and drive product adoption in immunology-related therapies. You will navigate payer landscapes, deliver education, and build cross-functional relationships across Marketing, Medical, and Payer Relations.

The role requires deep therapeutic knowledge, a valid license, and willingness to travel up to 20% domestically.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
• Ability to travel domestically as necessary, which in some territories may include overnight travel up to 20%
• Valid driver’s license.
• Must be able and willing to drive or operate a vehicle – driving is an essential function of this role
• The selected candidate will be hired at the appropriate level based on experience
• Specialty Account Specialist (grade 8): 5+ years of pharmaceutical/medical device experience.
• Senior Specialty Account Specialist (grade 7): 12+ years of pharmaceutical/medical device experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide Scientific Knowledge, Business Acumen, and Customer Engagement expertise to specialist customers in support of a GSK biologic product.
• To understand the reimbursement/distribution landscape for specialist customers and identify the appropriate resources to refer customers to appropriate resource for reimbursement and distribution choices, always working within GSK guidelines and values.
• Maintain deep therapeutic knowledge of Immunology disease states, including rheumatologic and nephrology conditions, and translate clinical insights into meaningful customer engagements.
• Provide product educational programs/in-services to customers.
• Work within Compliance guidelines and GSK values always.
• Develop strategies and tactics to generate sales.
• Develop and implement strategies specific to each customer within an account.
• Develop and maintain strong working relationships with Marketing, Payer Relations Managers, Medical, and other functions within GSK.
• Effectively manage allocated resources.
• Provide outstanding customer service by responding to our customers' requests, inquiries and needs.

Covers the greater Reading, PA area. Covers the greater Reading, PA area and the surrounding area. (Relocation assistance not provided).

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide Scientific Knowledge, Business Acumen, and Customer Engagement expertise to specialist customers in support of a GSK biologic product.
• To understand the reimbursement/distribution landscape for specialist customers and identify the appropriate resources (e. g. Payer Relations Managers, HUB, headquarter approved materials) to refer customers to appropriate resource for reimbursement and distribution choices, always working within GSK guidelines and values.
• Maintain deep therapeutic knowledge of Immunology disease states, including rheumatologic and nephrology conditions, and translate clinical insights into meaningful customer engagements.
• Provide product educational programs/in-services to customers.
• Work within Compliance guidelines and GSK values always.
• Develop strategies and tactics to generate sales.
• Develop and implement strategies specific to each customer within an account (i.e. nurses, mid-levels, business/office managers).
• Develop and maintain strong working relationships with Marketing, Payer Relations Managers (Market Access), Medical (MSLs), and other functions within GSK.

• Provide outstanding customer service by responding to our customers' requests, inquiries and needs.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution

Preferred Qualifications:

• Specialty Products that utilize the Buy & Bill or Specialty pharmacy modes of distribution
• Expertise in working with Payer Reimbursement Managers
• Experience calling on Rheumatologists and other specialty healthcare providers preferred
• Demonstrated success selling within rheumatology, immunology, or nephrology therapeutic areas strongly preferred
• Experience working within large integrated health systems and IDNs preferred.
  

Work arrangement:

This is a field-based role. Most work is conducted in the field across your assigned territory. You will travel regularly within the territory and occasionally beyond. Driving is an essential function.
