Position Description

We seek a compassionate, trauma-informed therapist experienced in working with clients affected by narcissistic abuse and chronic shame, especially adult children of emotionally immature parents. The role involves providing individual therapy, supporting clients' healing, and collaborating within a dynamic team.

Significant Areas of Responsibility

Clinical Responsibilities

  • Provide therapy to clients dealing with narcissistic abuse, emotional immaturity, and shame, managing a caseload of 18-26 clients weekly.
  • Use evidence-based approaches like IFS, CBT, Narrative, DBT, Psychodynamic, and trauma-informed modalities.
  • Conduct assessments, develop treatment plans, and apply trauma-informed, empathetic care.
  • Address clients' self-esteem, relational patterns, coping strategies, and healing of shame.
  • Maintain clinical documentation and ensure confidentiality per HIPAA standards.
  • Offer crisis intervention with our Crisis Management Team and develop safety plans as needed.
  • Maintain licensure and complete required continuing education.

Collaborations and Community Engagement

  • Coordinate with other professionals and refer clients to additional services.
  • Contribute to the practice blog, attend community events, and participate in team activities.

Compensation Plan

Includes a percentage of collected fees, eligibility for raises after maintaining a caseload of 18 sessions/week for 12 weeks, and a monthly self-care stipend of $100.

Qualifications

Education: Master’s or Doctoral in a related field and active licensure (LCSW, LPC, LMFT, Psychologist, or equivalent).

Experience: At least 3 years working with trauma, narcissistic abuse, emotional immaturity, and diverse client backgrounds. Skills in assessment, empathy, crisis management, and communication are essential.

Personal Qualities: Compassion, organization, professionalism, and a commitment to ongoing growth.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Training in trauma modalities like EMDR, Somatic Experiencing, TF-CBT.
  • Specialized training in narcissistic abuse recovery or emotionally immature parenting.
  • Experience with telehealth and holistic healing practices.
