Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to perform area-specific duties in a busy health system. You will be an expert with equipment, maintain accurate records, and support communication with patients and care teams.

Required licensure with the state board of pharmacy and CPhT or ExCPT certification; a high school diploma or GED is essential, with an Associate's Degree in Pharmacy Technology preferred for NC technicians. You may travel between pharmacy locations as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• For NC technicians with validating responsibilities, an Associate's Degree in Pharmacy Technology is required.
• Registration/Licensure with state board of pharmacy per state of employment requirements.
• CPhT or ExCPT certification through PTCB/ NHCA is required or preferred.

Responsibilities

• Completes area-specific work per standard processes, procedures and policies.
• Serves as an expert with equipment and technology in the specialized area.
• Problem solves technical issues in the specialized area as they arise.
• Ensures documents and records are accurate and completed in a timely fashion.
• Supports communication with patients and care team.
• Identifies quality improvement opportunities to ensure safe, effective, and efficient patient care.
• Supports implementation of operational changes and site/system standardization.
• Participates in site or system specialized work teams, committees, and councils.
• Complies with legal, regulatory, and accreditation standards.
• Keeps current with changes in the field and collaborates with leadership to adopt best practices.
• Maintains knowledge and skills and contributes to education of others.
• Contributes to pharmacy department initiatives.
• Accepts tasks from other pharmacy teammate roles when workload dictates.
