Job summary

SYNERGY HomeCare in Hickory, NC is seeking experienced Specialized Care Assistants to support clients with higher care needs in the home setting. This role requires dependable, compassionate caregivers with hands-on personal care experience and availability for a range of shifts.

Caregivers will follow client Care Plans, provide companionship, assist with activities of daily living, and report changes to the office promptly.

Qualifications

Specialized Care Assistant / Experienced Caregiver – Hickory, NC

SYNERGY HomeCare in Conover is hiring experienced Specialized Care Assistants in Newton and surrounding areas.

We are seeking dependable, compassionate, experienced caregivers who are comfortable supporting clients with more complex care needs and who have consistent availability.

This position is best suited for experienced caregivers who are confident in providing hands‑on personal care and supporting clients who may require a higher level of assistance.

Shifts We Are Recruiting For

• 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM
• 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM
• 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
• 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• Weekend shifts
• PRN / fill-in availability

Specialized Care Assistant Responsibilities

Responsibilities may include:

• Hands‑on personal care and assistance with ADLs
• Bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting assistance
• Mobility and walking assistance
• Assistance with transfers within the caregiver's authorized scope
• Dementia and memory‑care support
• Support for clients with chronic conditions or increased care needs
• Meal preparation
• Light housekeeping
• Medication reminders
• Companionship and safety supervision
• Transportation and errands when authorized
• Following the client's individualized Care Plan
• Observing and promptly reporting changes in a client's condition or needs to the office

Experience & Qualifications

We are looking for candidates with previous hands‑on caregiving experience, particularly experience working with clients who require a higher level of assistance.

Preferred experience may include:

• Dementia or Alzheimer's care
• Hospice or end‑of‑life support
• Parkinson's care
• Stroke recovery support
• Cancer care
• Mobility limitations
• Fall‑risk clients
• Extended‑hour or overnight care
• Other higher‑needs home‑care assignments

Applicants should be comfortable providing one‑on‑one care in a client's home and following established Care Plans and agency procedures.
