Job Description

Richmond Elementary School is seeking a full‑time, energetic and caring Specialized Assistant to work with elementary‑aged students as a member of our Student Support team. The Specialized Assistant will provide a variety of supportive activities with a diverse population of students. These individuals must enjoy working as part of a creative and hard‑working team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Build and foster a positive rapport with students and colleagues.
  • Respond to student incidents and help students repair hurt or damaged relationships.
  • Provide crisis prevention, de‑escalation, and post‑incident support using CPI techniques.
  • Collect and maintain behavioral data as needed.
  • Model behavior strategies and programming for school teams.
  • Support short‑term student stabilization or long‑term intensive needs if needed.
  • Collaborate closely with the Student Life Coordinator, other school staff, and administration.
Qualifications
  • High School diploma required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 3–5 years experience working with students.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to stay calm under pressure and maintain confidentiality.
  • Candidates must be reliable, have the ability to lift up to 25 pounds and stand and/or walk for extended periods of time to support students.
