Physical Education and Locker Room Assistant

Location: Vista La Mesa Academy

Schedule: 8:05am-10:05am, Monday - Friday

Work Year: 204 paid days per year

Job Description:

Under the direction of the Principal and physical education teachers, supervises students in the locker/shower room, assists the physical education teacher during the physical education instructional periods and does related work as required.

Job Responsibilities

• Monitors and directs students in the locker/shower room before and after the instructional P.E. periods.
• Follows teacher directions to help instruct students in physical education activities and games.
• Helps supervise students indoors, on the playground and on field trips and accompanies students to the nurse’s office when necessary.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Some knowledge about public education.

Ability to function satisfactorily with middle school pupils, follow written and oral directions, and work well with other employees.

Dexterity of hands and fingers to demonstrate activities, hearing and speaking to exchange information, seeing to monitor activities, bending at the waist, kneeling or crouching to assist students, and standing for extended periods of time.
