Job summary

Mikron Tool, a Swiss company with a manufacturing plant in Elk Grove Village, IL, seeks a Tool application specialist to deliver technical application solutions to sales teams and clients. The role includes visiting customers, preparing quotations, and advising on new products and capabilities.

You will work with cutting tool technology, metallurgy and carbide, read drawings, and collaborate with Mikron Tool in Switzerland for technical inquiries.

Qualifications

• Experience in cutting tool technology.
• Expert knowledge in metallurgy, metal alloys and carbide.
• Machining processes in drilling, milling and tapping.
• Able to read technical drawings and to sketch ideas and concepts.
• College education, emphasis on mechanical engineering.
• Systematic and analytical thinking.
• Knowledge of MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
• Knowledge with SAP, CRM or similar systems.
• Excellent communication skills to present company, products and technology.
• Preferred multilanguage of interest.
• Technical writing skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical application solutions to sales managers and clients.
• Visit customers for strategic applications in accordance with department planning.
• Produce special tool quotations for requests, as well as for standard items and NS Tools within the target quotation due date.
• Advise customers on new products and existing product functions / capabilities.
• Provide overall technical advice to all customers and distributors by phone, email or other support.
• Interface with Mikron Tool in Switzerland for technical questions and problem solving.
• Use and file proper paperwork associated with quotations / parameter requests / technical assistance / tool recommendations and applications history.
• Support quotation process for all Mikron Tool locations worldwide.
• Contribute in developing and sharing team knowledge.

For our new manufacturing plant in Elk Groove Village, Illinois, we are looking for a Tool application specialist
