Role Summary

The Facilities Operations team is dedicated to creating an inspiring and efficient work environment for all Rivian employees. A vital part of this mission is ensuring that our Engineering and Development teams have cutting-edge lab spaces to fuel innovation and drive product breakthroughs. In this role, you’ll partner closely with lab users to optimize these spaces, helping to shape the future of engineering at Rivian.


Responsibilities

  • Manage all site’s lab floor plans to ensure Rivian is utilizing space efficiency and maximizing that space. Complete audits for each lab and maintain a source of truth lab matrix.
  • Partner with the Workplace Development team to develop and issue quarterly R&D space utilization updates.
  • Ingest space requests from Engineering teams—work with the requesters to develop a program and equipment list that allow Design, Building Infrastructure Design, and Construction to properly kick-off a project.
  • Represent the Facilities Operations organization as the project lead for all R&D projects—collaborate with project requestors, Finance, Design, Building Infrastructure Design, and Construction throughout the project cycle.
  • Identify areas for continuous improvements as it relates to facilities usage and engineering equipment planning.
  • This includes developing financial justifications for all new projects, and managing a 3-year labspace forecast plan.
  • Drive consistency and alignment throughout Engineering lab spaces.
  • Collaborate with Workplace Managers, Occupancy Planners, and other Facilities stakeholders to achieve shared goals. This includes contributing ideas, being open to feedback, and compromising when necessary.
  • Lead ad-hoc Facilities workplace projects.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience of lab and R&D management
  • 5+ years of facilities, workplace, project management or similar experience
  • Automotive experience is desired, but not required.
  • Proficient in creating budgets, schedules, project plans, and general project management.
  • Knowledge of reading construction documents and specifications.
  • Proficient in Figma, Slack, and Google Suite
  • Ability to travel up to 40% of the time
  • Enthusiastic collaborator and a critical thinker with a passion for problem-solving

Pay Disclosure

Salary Rangefor Irvine, CA based applicants: $98,500 - $123,100 annually (Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location and other factors permitted by law).

Benefits Summary:Rivian provides robust medical/Rx, dental and vision insurance packages for full-time and part-time employees, their spouse or domestic partner, and children up to age 26. Full Time Employee coverage is effective on the first day of employment. Part-Time employee coverage is effective the first of the month following 90 days of employment.
