Job summary

Merck & Co., Inc. in Rahway, NJ is seeking a Business Analyst to define and document ERC-related business processes, workflows, and requirements to support a 24x7 risk monitoring and crisis response center.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Gather, analyze, and document business requirements, workflows, use cases, and process maps for ERC capabilities, including SDLC documentation, user stories, acceptance criteria, and support for test case development and execution.
  • Translate business and operational needs into clear, actionable requirements for technology and implementation teams.
  • Support development of operating procedures, escalation workflows, and process documentation for a 24x7 monitoring environment.
  • Partner with GSAG, our Company's Enterprise Strategy Office, and other stakeholders to define future-state processes supporting risk sensing, event monitoring, assessment, and crisis response.
  • Facilitate meetings and working sessions to align business, technical, and operational stakeholders, and capture notes, action items, and follow-up.
  • Support mapping of data sources, system dependencies, and integrations needed to create a common operating picture.
  • Assist in identifying gaps, risks, and opportunities for process improvement and operational efficiency.
  • Contribute to testing and user acceptance activities; design, develop, and deliver training programs and enablement materials to support both the onboarding of new users and the ongoing skill development of existing users on live ERC technologies.
  • Help track action items, decisions, dependencies, and issues across workstreams.
  • Support development of metrics, reporting, and performance tracking for ERC processes and capabilities.
  • Partner with the Product Manager, project leads, and technical teams to ensure requirements are implemented effectively.
  • Design, maintain, and oversee the ongoing training strategy and enablement materials for both onboarding new users and upskilling existing users on production ERC technologies.
  • Support ongoing process refinement and continuous improvement after launch.

Position Summary

Our Company's Enterprise IT organization is assisting with establishing a digitally enabled and connected Enterprise Resilience Center (ERC) to strengthen enterprise-wide risk monitoring, assessment, and crisis response capabilities. The ERC will support a 24x7 operating model designed to provide a common operating picture across the enterprise, integrate real-time risk intelligence and horizon scanning, and enable rapid escalation and coordinated response when events occur. The Business Analyst will help define and document the business processes, workflows, requirements, and operational needs that support the center’s technology and operating model. This role will report to the Security Product Line Lead (PLL) within the Enterprise IT Legal, Compliance & Security Value Team and will partner closely with business stakeholders for this initiative that include Global Security & Aviation Group (GSAG), which will primarily manage the ERC, as well as our Company's Enterprise Strategy Office. The Business Analyst will also work across IT, resilience stakeholders, and external vendors to gather and analyze information, support process development, and ensure that the ERC’s people, process, technology, and governance components are well integrated.

The salary range for this role is $87,300.00 - $137,400.00 This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. An employee’s position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, government requirements, and business or organizational needs.

The successful candidate will be eligible for annual bonus and long-term incentive, if applicable.
