Department: LMS Integrations

Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled and solutions-oriented LMS Administrator with 3–5 years of direct Canvas experience to join our LMS Integrations Engineering team. This position will report to LMS Integrations Engineering and support the Career and College Readiness Higher Education division.

This role is critical to supporting our CTE upcoming Fall term launch, during which 300 institutions will be live on our Canvas instance. The ideal candidate will bring both technical expertise and strong communication skills, capable of supporting complex SIS, SSO and middleware integrations into Canvas while also providing guidance to users who may not be technically inclined.

This position is full-time and will play a key role in scaling our LMS infrastructure to meet increasing institutional demand. You’ll work closely with internal stakeholders, external partners, and cross-functional teams to ensure seamless delivery and support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary administrator for Pearson CCR Canvas LMS, managing system configuration, course provisioning, user access, LTI integrations, and ongoing performance monitoring.
  • Configure and maintain SSO integrations with Elevate, Clever, and Classlink into Canvas.
  • Connect with institution SIS (PowerSchool, InfiniteCampus, Blackbaud) through OneRoster APIs to bring user data into Elevate Data Sync in a scalable, efficient manner.
  • Manage non-OneRoster compliant SIS exports through SFTP uploads into Elevate Data Sync.
  • Enable SSO and SAML configurations to ensure secure and scalable authentication across all partner institutions.
  • Support onboarding and configuration for 300 institutions in preparation for Fall 2025.
  • Provide timely and empathetic support to end users, including educators and administrators with varying levels of technical comfort.
  • Partner with internal and external teams to troubleshoot and resolve data flow or access issues, particularly those related to SIS syncs and system interoperability.
  • Train CTE Sales Specialists so that they can serve as initial customer triage before escalating.
  • Monitor system performance, anticipate potential risks, and implement proactive solutions to minimize disruption.
  • Document processes, configurations, and best practices for both internal stakeholders and external users.
  • Stay informed on Canvas and OneRoster feature updates and identify those most relevant to our user base.

Required Qualifications

5-7 years of hands-on experience administering Canvas in a professional environment (Required, non-negotiable). This is not an entry-level role. We need an experienced Canvas LMS admin with experience working with SAML and SSO.

  • Expert-level understanding of JSON / XML, scripting languages (Python, Ruby, Bash etc) to mash user data into the proper format in the most elegant way possible
  • Experience with Elevate Data Sync, or other relevant OneRoster API middleware also required
  • Comfortable with Clever and Classlink, OneRoster, SIS systems such as PowerSchool, Blackbaud, Synergy, and the K12 information technology ecosystem
  • Proven ability to manage multiple high-priority implementations and competing timelines
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills and customer-first mindset
  • Ability to simplify complex systems for non-technical audiences and an enjoyment for both learning and sharing knowledge
  • Attention to detail and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues
  • Willingness to get hands dirty and get done what needs to get done

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in a scaled environment (supporting multiple schools or organizations on a single LMS instance)
  • Background in education technology or hands-on experience in a K12 environment
  • Project coordination or implementation experience in a distributed, multi-stakeholder setting
